PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Experience

Why should I try the PADI Scuba Diving Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Experience? Do I need to be able to swim first? Is it dangerous?

Have you always wanted to discover scuba diving? Ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite sure what to expect, then the Discover Scuba Diving course  is for you.

We offer to conduct this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat. You can try scuba close to home or while you’re on vacation at a dive destination without using up valuable holiday time. While this is not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. It’s a convenient way for people to try out scuba for the first time. The PADI Open Water Course can take between three to four days to become an Open water Diver, so the Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to check out what scuba is like before taking the plunge to becoming a certified diver.

The Best Part

The best part about the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is that you can pretty much jump into the water and have fun diving straight away without the more extensive training required to make you an Open Water Diver. Some divers just choose to repeat the Discover Scuba Diving experience every time they go on holiday!

What will you learn?

You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. If you make an Open Water dive, you’ll practice a few more skills in shallow water to prepare for your adventure. You will learn about how to interact with the marine environment in a positive way, by developing buoyancy control and avoiding contact with sensitive organisms.

What will you do?

  • Understand scuba equipment that you use to dive and discover how easy it is to move around underwater.
  • Discover what it’s like to breathe underwater.
  • Learn key skills like buoyancy control that you’ll use during every scuba dive.
  • Have fun swimming around and exploring the underwater world.
  • Learn about becoming a certified diver through the PADI Open Water Diver course.

To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, and it’s not necessary to be able to swim, but you do need to be in reasonable physical health.

What will you get?

Apart from the incredible feeling of exhilaration and wonder following your first dive experience, you will also get:

  • A certificate, providing you meet the requirements for the skills segment of the Discover Scuba Diving experience.
  • A credit towards your Open Water course, should you choose to take it within the next 12 months of your DSD experience.

Your Next Adventure

(with a buddy of course)
